3 November 1954 born Indian film actor Lakshmikant Berde acted in Marathi and Hindi films. He was interested in acting from his early childhood days. He participated in local ganesh pandal plays and in inter-school and inter-college drama competitons, for which he received many awards. Later in 1983 he appeared in Purushottam Berde’s play ‘Tour Tour’ which was a hit. His first Marathi movie was ‘Lek Chalali Sasarla’ after which he started getting many offers for Marathi films. He appeared in films like ‘Dhum Dhadaka’, ‘Hamal De Dhamal’, ‘Ashi Hi Banwa Banvi’, ‘Balache Baap Brahmachari’ and ‘Thartharat’. His first hindi film was ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ his other hindi films were ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’, ‘Mere Sapno Ki Rani’, ‘Aarzoo’, ‘Saajan’, ’ Beta’, ’ 100 days’ and ‘Anari’. Lakshmikant mostly acted in light hearted comedy roles. He made an inseparable pair with Ashok Saraf, both of them appeared as a hit pair during 1980’s in the films like ‘changu Mangu’, ‘Ashi Hi banwa Banvi’, ‘Dhum Dhadaka’, ‘Eja Beeja Teeja’. He was a talented Ventriloquist and a Guitar player. He had started his own production house by the name Abhinay Arts, named after his son. He died on 16ThDecember 2004 of Kindney Ailment.
