The coming Friday will witness an unusual clash with two totally league se hat ke films vying for attention, but thankfully belonging to very different genres. Yes, we are talking about, Umesh Shukla’s Amitabh-Rishi starrer, 102 NOT OUT and Hansal Mehta’s Rajkummar Rao starrer, OMERTA. While the Amitabh-Rishi feel good comedy drama is sure to lead from the front and will be appreciated by both mass and class audiences, the biographical crime drama and Rajkummar Rao-Hansal Mehta (SHAHID) combo is expected to cater to the discerning cine-goers of high end multiplexes of metros and big cities. Both the new releases will additionally face a tough challenge from the week old AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR.
Coming to last Friday’s major releases, Sudhir Mishra’s Richa Chaddha starrer DAAS DEV, Hrishita Bhatt’s ISHQ TERA Hollywood venture, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, the outcome was predictable but not so predictable as well! What we mean is that DAAS DEV was appreciated by select audience but AVENGERS managed the best start and an opening weekend (94-95 crore) which was way beyond expectations. The film is on way to be the biggest Hollywood hit in India, surpassing THE JUNGLE BOOK, before the second week is over. The third release, ISHQ TERA is a washout.
